They measure 6 inches long by almost as high and weigh 5 pounds the pair. They are just all sleek and stylized lines, so deco and stand proudly, long tailfeathers outspread, on triple arcs at the base. Just look at the ringed necks on these pheasants and their wonderful crests. The birds are gilded bronze plated with a wonderful irridescent deep burgundy coloring on their backs and sides. They have the original red baize French paper on the bases as well. Lovely chamfered edges on them, all original. They have lovely black marble bases with traces of grey and white veining that are in superb shape. They are guaranteed old, genuine and original. These are wonderful and original pure art deco bronze plated polychrome finished spelter or white metal (what the french called regule) pheasant cock bird bookends, circa 1925.
